Round table “Best practices for effective management of UNESCO cultural heritage sites in Russia”

On June 25, the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts hosted a round table entitled “Best Practices for Effective Management of UNESCO Cultural Heritage Sites in Russia. On the 500th Anniversary of the Founding of the Novodevichy Convent.”

 

This event, which was held by the Russian Academy of Arts, the Novodevichy Stavropegic Convent and the Russian Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D.S. Likhachev with the information support of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was the first stage in the work of the international seminar “Issues of Preservation and Management of Cultural Heritage Sites in the Framework of Fulfilling UNESCO Requirements during Restoration Work.”

 

The round table was attended by Acting President of the Russian Academy of Arts V.Z. Tsereteli, Abbess of the Novodevichy Convent Margarita (Feoktistova), Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A.S. Alimov, experts and specialists in the field of preservation of cultural heritage sites.

 

The reports were given by the abbess of the Novodevichy Convent Margarita (Feoktistova), deputy director of the Moscow Kremlin Museum, head of the Working Group of the Federal Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the restoration of the Novodevichy Convent ensemble A.L. Batalov, deputy director for the storage of museum funds of the Moscow State United Artistic Historical-Architectural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve O.A. Polyakova.
